Because of its physical
appearance and performance, the F-104 has often been called the "Missile
with a man in it." The design was a product of the Korean War, and
was unique in several respects. The encounters with the MiG-15 in Korea
caused a strong outcry among Air Force fighter pilots for a cheap,
lightweight, maneuverable, high-performance fighter to confront future
Soviet fighters. The result was the F-104, a fighter that overemphasized
rate of climb and brute speed.

The Philippine's first "air
force" appeared in 1940, when the 6th Pursuit Squadron of the
Philippine Army Air Corps (PAAC) received 2 Boeing P-12E, augmented in
1941 by a dozen P-26A Peashooters. This was all the air defense
available when the Japanese invaded. The few pilots fought courageously
against the superior Japanese air force, but soon were totally defeated.
Most of the pilots then joined the guerrilla units. The rest became POWs
to the Japanese, many dying in captivity. US forces had informed the
guerrilla fighters to prepare to transfer their pilots as early as 1943,
but the first transfer only took place in August 1944.

|
The
terror of the Pacific theater in WW II, the Japanese Zero was
legendary for its exploits. The A6M was a fighter conceived,
“specs-first” by the Japanese Navy in 1937. The plane they wanted
was to be a carrier- based, highly maneuverable, long range fighter
that was capable of defeating heavier land-based fighters toe-to-toe.
the
A6M was at the forefront on December 7th, 1941 during the attack on
Pearl Harbour. Over the next 6 months the Zero confounded
American pilots with its superior maneuverability and its highly
trained pilots causing heavy losses to the Americans.

Eagles have
an impressive amount of pad-printed markings including some elaborate
paint schemes and numerous warning placards found around the entire
airframe. They are very highly detailed with a delicate thin cambered
wing, simulated stainless-steel heat shielding surrounding the engine
exhausts, movable elevators and rudders. The underside of the aircraft
features non-configurable highly detailed, strong-sturdy metal
landing gear with a full complement of very accurate pad printed ordnances.
Showing amazing detail, actuators extend and retract on the hinged canopy and speed brake.
The Compressor fans even spin if air
is blown into the engine intakes.

The F-15 was designed as an
air-superiority fighter, combining unparalleled maneuverability,
acceleration and range with state-of-the-art avionics and weaponry. The
first F-15 flew on July 27th, 1972. The F-15’s advanced avionics system
gives it the ability to perform air-to-air or air-to-surface missions at
all altitudes. Its superior maneuverability and acceleration are achieved
through high engine thrust-to-weight ratio and low wing loading, which
enables the aircraft to turn tightly without losing airspeed. The F-15E
Strike Eagle derivative is an all-weather strike fighter that entered
service in 1989. The U.S Air Force plans to keep the F-15 in service until
2025.

The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was an
American single-engined, high-performance, supersonic interceptor
aircraft that served with the United States Air Force (USAF) from 1958
until 1967. One of the Century Series of aircraft, it continued in
service with Air National Guard units until it was phased out in 1975.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) flew a small
mixed fleet of F-104 types in supersonic flight tests and spaceflight
programs until they were retired in 1994. Several two-seat trainer
versions were produced, the most numerous being the TF-104G.
